Zenith used its June 30, 2026 press release to give the Chronomaster Original a highly specific local identity instead of another broad boutique variant. The new Chronomaster Original Paris Edition is limited to 50 pieces for the French market and uses Parisian architecture, copper rooftops and long boulevard sightlines as the theme for its verdigris dial.

Design and Materials

The watch stays close to the 1969 A386 formula that made the Chronomaster Original one of Zenith’s most compelling heritage chronographs. That means a compact 38mm stainless steel case, pump pushers, sharply tapered lugs and a box-style sapphire crystal that preserves the vintage silhouette without feeling costume-like.

The Paris-specific element is the dial. Zenith describes it as a gradient verdigris finish, with tone-on-tone counters and a green palette meant to echo the patinated copper tones seen across the city’s rooftops and domes. It is a more architectural interpretation than the earlier DEFY Skyline Paris Edition, and it suits the restrained proportions of the Chronomaster family well.

Technical Highlights

Inside is the El Primero 3600, Zenith’s modern high-frequency automatic chronograph calibre. Running at 36,000 vibrations per hour, it displays true 1/10th of a second timing through the central chronograph hand, which completes one full lap of the dial every 10 seconds. The movement also brings a 60-hour power reserve, stop-seconds setting and a view of the blue column wheel through the sapphire caseback.

Zenith pairs the watch with a stainless steel bracelet using the new ZENCLASP folding clasp and integrated micro-adjustment, then adds a black nubuck strap in the box. For a limited edition rooted in aesthetics, that comfort upgrade matters because it gives the release a practical day-to-day argument as well.

Horomag Take

What makes this launch interesting is its restraint. Zenith did not rewrite the Chronomaster Original recipe or chase artificial rarity through precious metals. Instead, it used a strong city-specific color story, kept the proven El Primero 3600 in place and improved the wearability package with the new clasp. For collectors who like local editions to feel considered rather than decorative, this is one of the sharper recent examples.

Availability

The Chronomaster Original Paris Edition became available through Zenith France e-commerce on June 29, 2026 and is scheduled to reach the maison’s Paris boutiques in September 2026.
